High schools are – and should be – very proud of their marching arts. These include teams of young people dedicated to marching band, color guard, drill team, drum corps and more. In every public performance, these teams proudly wear their school colors.
Marching band uniforms must be both affordable and durable. They must also be well-fitted and attractive. Marching band shirts, particularly, carry the weight of the uniform design. Generally paired with simple, solid color pants, band shirts are the most colorful, decorated aspect of the uniform.
Almost every school has a limited budget for the arts. Marching bands will typically collect fees and do regular fundraising to properly fund their apparel. The most successful suppliers recognize that marching bands demand style, comfort and, most importantly, washability, when choosing their performance clothing.
Band shirts, also called blouses, are available in many different materials. Typically, polyester and spandex are chosen for fit and function. These may be blended into fashion-forward materials such as velvet, crushed velvet or illusion, chosen primarily for their overall appearance and with an understanding they will require increased care. No matter what the fabric, ornamentation or design, each and every marching band shirt is guaranteed to be worn with a great deal of pride.
